Miami Lakes committee discusses enforcement of three‑absence rule; removals now handled by appointing council member

Members of the Miami Lakes Senior Committee discussed a change to committee rules that restores removal of a member after three consecutive absences and asked leadership to implement the rule going forward.

"They have changed the rules that allow us to get somebody off of our committee if they miss 3 meetings," a committee member said, and the speaker asked the group to ensure the rule is enforced. The member added that exceptions for "good cause" — medical reasons or family emergencies — remain accepted.
