The Bethany Public Schools Board of Education on May 20 approved a slate of personnel actions covering the 2025–26 school year, including employment lists in Addenda A through E, the removal of a reassignment of certified administrative employees from Addendum A and the reappointment of Delana Massey as district treasurer.
Board motions to approve those addenda referenced statutory authority presented at the meeting: 25 O.S. § 307(B)(1). The board took those actions by roll-call votes; recorded roll-call votes for the addenda items show affirmative votes from board members present.
The board also approved adding an adjunct teaching position in the certification area of science for high-school chemistry. Meeting discussion noted that the adjunct hire will require approval from the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) for certification in chemistry before the employee may be assigned chemistry instruction.
During an executive session that preceded some of the personnel votes, the presiding officer stated that only board members and the superintendent were present and that no votes were taken in executive session; the minutes also record that Board member Lisa Yates and President Chad Jaggers left the meeting during executive session. After returning to open session, board members moved personnel items and completed roll-call votes.
Formal actions recorded in the meeting included separate motions to approve employment in Addendum A (with the removal of a reassignment item), B, C, D and E for the 2025–26 school year, each approved by roll call; the board also approved the reappointment of Delana Massey as treasurer for fiscal year 2025. The adjunct position motion passed and the board directed staff to seek OSDE certification approval where required.
