Smith emphasized the strictness of the audits, saying a single unlocked door, an out‑of‑compliance gate or a missing document could result in a finding. "There are hundreds of ways the school can fail this audit. If a single door is unlocked in the entire school, they fail," Captain Smith said. He told the board the results reflect principals and staff taking audits seriously and that the district is working to maintain compliance.
The report was presented as required by statute and district policy 5‑11; no board action was taken in the workshop.
