The Orange Village Council on May 14 approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Judson A. Klein to submit an application for Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Program funding to purchase and protect a 35‑acre parcel associated with the Pine Crest South area.
Mayor Klein said the Western Reserve Land Conservancy is working on the village’s behalf to conserve the acreage and that Orange Village will be the formal applicant for the grant. Klein described the application as focused on purchasing the land; other enhancements for the property would be pursued through separate funding later.
Klein said the application deadline is in mid‑June and that he has been collecting letters of support from legislators. The council approved Resolution 2025‑3 by roll call at the meeting.
Klein noted residents had asked for updates on Pine Crest South; he said this resolution authorizes the village’s application for the Clean Ohio competitive grant to help secure the property.
