Will County’s ordinance‑review committee voted to refer a set of amended chapters to the executive committee for further consideration and consolidation.
At separate points in the meeting the committee approved motions to forward the following chapters to the executive committee: chapter 34 (planning and zoning related editorial edits and the insertion of the acronym PCC for the planning and zoning commission), chapter 35 (Sunny Hill Nursing Home renaming and housekeeping edits), chapter 36 (personnel policy updates as amended during discussion) and chapter 38 (public records changes). Each motion was moved, seconded and carried on recorded voice or roll‑call votes; the sponsoring members and recorded outcomes were read on the record.
Examples: the motion to send chapter 34 to the executive committee was made by Member Logan, seconded by Member Freeman, and the roll‑call vote was recorded as unanimous. The committee later moved chapter 35 "as amended" (motion by Freeman, second by Logan) and recorded unanimous passage. Chapter 36 was moved "as amended" (motion by Grama; second by Newquist) and carried on roll call; chapter 38 was moved by Member Logan, seconded by Member Freeman, and that motion carried.
Committee members asked staff to circulate clean, retyped versions showing the final amended text before the packet is transmitted to the executive committee. The committee’s chair said chapter 37 (fees and schedules) will be retyped by staff to correct formatting issues and brought back next month, at which time the committee will begin that chapter and proceed to chapter 39.
