Hunt County commissioners approved moving the county veterans office to a different suite after staff reported the space will be ready when the contractor completes work.
Judge Stovall introduced the item and asked for comments. A county staff speaker said he “did talk to, mister Hitzman, the owner and contractor. He's working on the building. As soon as he gets that done, he'll get key.” The staff also reported IT wiring costs were lower than expected and said, “Hopefully, by the end of the month, we'll be, we'll be using” the new space.
County staff and commissioners discussed whether the existing lease needs an amendment because the suite number will change. The court directed staff to return with an amended lease next quarter so the county attorney or lease manager can execute the necessary paperwork. A motion to approve the move carried by voice vote; no individual roll call was recorded in the transcript.
Ending
County staff will coordinate the lease amendment and IT installation, and the move is expected once contractor repairs are complete.
