Lincoln Public Schools reported tentative agreements with several employee groups and the board approved those agreements in the May 13 meeting, waiving second reading and recording roll-call approval.
Blake Simpson, director of employee relations and the district’s chief negotiator, told the board he had worked with the employee groups and that the tentative agreements fall within the compensation parameters previously set by the board. The groups named on the agenda included the Custodial Employees Association, Nutrition Services Workers Association, Association of Office Professionals, Paraeducator Employees Association, technicians and administrators. Simpson said the district had reached tentative agreements with the majority of listed groups.
Board member Kathy Danek moved to waive second reading and approve the contract proposals; a second was stated and the board took a roll-call vote. Laura (board staff) read the roll; the record shows members voting yes, and the chair declared the items approved. The board thanked staff and negotiators for the work; a few board members noted that two groups remained under negotiation but said progress was being made.
