District plans advance purchase of staff computers and copier to lower next year’s tech budget

Board members asked about disposition of replaced machines; staff said most of the four- to five-year-old units will be recycled, with a small number retained as loaners or for parts to support in-house repairs. Staff said the purchase would not change the total cost but could allow the district to buy more machines for the same total and thereby further reduce next year’s out-year needs.
No formal vote was recorded in the committee meeting; staff said the purchases are included in budget projections and will be handled according to procurement rules.
