St. Lucie School Board adopts 2025–26 student code of conduct and several policy amendments

The St. Lucie County School Board voted 5-0 on May 13 to adopt the proposed 2025–26 student code of conduct and approve amendments to school board policy 6,210 (fiscal planning), 6,322 (construction contracting and bidding), 6,661 (instructional materials allocation) and policy 8,280 (nursing mothers).

Superintendent John R. Prince recommended the board adopt the code and the listed policy amendments during the meeting's public hearing on May 13. "I recommend the board adopt the proposed 2025, 26 student code of conduct and proposed amendments to school board policy number 6,210, fiscal planning policy number 6,322, construction contracting and bidding, policy 6,661, instructional materials allocation and policy number 8,280, nursing mothers," Prince said.

Board Member Harrison made the motion to adopt, and Board Member Ingersoll seconded. There was no discussion recorded during the meeting. Chairwoman Dr. Mills called for a voice vote; the motion carried unanimously, 5-0.

The hearing session that produced the motion was opened to the public for comments on the code and the listed policies; no public speakers were recorded on those items, and the board proceeded to vote.
