Business office staff reported that the Pennsylvania Department of Education certified Special Session Act 1 distributions for the 2025–26 school year. The district will receive $3,023,674.58 in state homestead/farmstead relief payments, split between August and February disbursements.
County assessors certified 12,159 approved homesteads and 127 approved farmsteads within the district. Under Act 1 requirements the district must set a fixed dollar homestead/farmstead assessment exclusion no later than June 30; administration proposed an exclusion of $7,537 for 2025–26. At that exclusion, eligible properties will receive $246.38 in tax relief — an increase from $210.65 in the prior year. The 2025–26 state allocation exceeds last year’s $2,580,404.12 distribution.
Administration said the homestead/farmstead exclusion item will be placed on the May legislative agenda for board action.
