District outlines targeted school improvement plan focused on students with IEPs at the high school

Director of OTL (Miss Landis) presented the TSI plan that the district must submit to the state after stakeholder steering committee work including parents, teachers, students and administrators.
Landis said the high school was designated TSI again for students with IEPs based on the most recent assessment cycle and explained the planning process (Ready-Set-Go) used to set focused goals. Key focus areas include personalized student goal-setting, algebra and literature Keystone performance, graduation pathways and parent communication. She described an expanded homeroom/advisory block next year to allow more tutoring, goal check-ins, and graduation-project checkpoints.
The plan also proposes to expand co-teaching opportunities, strengthen structured literacy instruction (BCIU professional learning was piloted this spring) and use state-provided formative assessments (Firefly, CDT) to monitor progress. Landis said the plan will be presented for board approval at the May legislative meeting so it can be uploaded to the state; the TSI submission is due in September but the team sought early board signoff.
Landis emphasized that the state designation is based on current-year assessment data and does not reflect final outcomes from work already underway. She requested the board review and sign the plan so it can be filed with PDE.
