Centre County’s election office delivered its final voter registration update ahead of the May primary, reporting 101,591 registered voters and reminding residents of deadlines for mail‑in ballots, drop boxes and in‑person early voting options.

Commissioner Concepcion said the registration total on the report was 101,591 voters and described Precinct 5 (Bellefonte West) as the precinct of the week. Election staff reminded voters that the deadline to request a mail‑in ballot is the day of the meeting and that county drop boxes will close at 9 a.m. the Monday before the election. Mail‑in ballots must be received in the elections office by 8 p.m. on election day; they are not counted solely by postmark.

Officials said the county’s mobile election van can perform services similar to the elections office for mail‑in ballots — for example, printing and issuing a ballot or accepting a completed ballot — but it is not intended to serve as a permanent polling place. Election staff also said that ballot counting for the current cycle will take place at Penn Stater and that the elections department plans to relocate mid‑summer to the Community Services Building, where future ballot counting and equipment storage are expected to be centralized.

The board announced several election‑period meetings, including board of elections sessions to review mail‑in ballots and exceptions. Commissioners urged voters to use drop boxes or bring ballots directly to the elections office if they are concerned about postal timelines.
