Quentin (programme lead) told commissioners the IFB covers preparation and delivery for the county’s home meals program for residents age 60 and older. He said the county is advertising the contract and expects a range of bidders can provide service at scale; the county estimates the contract will deliver approximately 78,000 meals per year.
Commissioners and staff said the program includes hot congregate meals at senior centers and shelf‑stable supplies used during bad weather. The county invited interested food providers to contact the county for IFB details; staff said they want a “wide variety of bids.”
The board moved and seconded to approve advertisement of the invitation for bids; the motion carried. County staff will evaluate responses and return with a recommended vendor and contract terms for the board’s approval.
