Police chief reports April activity: 874 calls for service, 81 arrests; board accepts report

The Logansport police chief presented the department's April 2025 activity report and the Court accepted the report.
The chief said the department recorded 874 calls for service, 81 arrests, 60 citations, 80 warnings and 206 traffic stops during April. The chief also reported the criminal-investigations unit had 17 cases assigned, 12 closed and five active; the drug task force investigated 14 cases and made seven arrests, including cases involving methamphetamine.
Other units reported vehicle enforcement activity and animal-control responses. The chief said the department logged 28,181 miles for the month, nine towed vehicles, one towed car due to enforcement, five traffic-accident investigations during one reporting span and 37 animal-control calls (18 animals taken to the shelter; three bite cases). The board voted to approve the monthly police report.
Board members thanked the chief for the report but did not ask for additional analysis during the public meeting. The report will be filed with the city records and is available to the public on request.
