The resolution, introduced by Supervisor Chris Corsi, does not create new legal protections but restates county policy to limit local cooperation with federal immigration enforcement to the extent allowed under California law and to safeguard personal information that county departments collect. "This resolution does not include the word sanctuary," Corsi told the board during his remarks, adding that the document "describes several laws that have been enacted in California in recent years"
