Committee approves co-naming request for 20 Eighth Street in honor of Rabbi Yisorel Gross, will forward resolution to city commission

Commissioner Alex Fernandez introduced the item, describing Rabbi Gross as a Holocaust survivor, spiritual leader and longtime community resident and asked the committee to consider co-naming the portion of 20 Eighth Street where he lived.
"He was a spiritual leader in our community, a holocaust survivor, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather... someone whose life embodied resilience, kindness, unwavering faith," Commissioner Fernandez said.
City staff clarified that for the item to be heard this month the motion should include a resolution for the May 21 city commission meeting. The committee moved the item by acclamation and staff will prepare the resolution for consideration at the May 21 commission meeting.
