FEMA opens donor resource center in Winchester as recovery continues

Federal Emergency Management Agency staff told the Clark County Fiscal Court they have opened a donor resource center and are providing door‑to‑door canvassing and a mobile unit to assist residents with disaster recovery registration.
Christine Palmer, division section chief with FEMA, said the donor resource center is at 200 Maryland Avenue in Winchester and is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily except Sunday, when hours are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. She said residents may register a claim in person, follow up on an existing claim, or use an 800 number and an online portal; Palmer left informational cards with the court.
Palmer said FEMA and state crews have been canvassing affected neighborhoods and that a mobile unit will visit locations such as Lowe's and local restaurants to register residents who cannot reach the center. She encouraged residents to use the center, the website, or the hotline for assistance and follow up.
