Enid presents roughly $10.5 million capital-improvement program in FY2025–26 budget

City of Enid officials on May 20 reviewed a proposed fiscal year 2025–26 budget that centers on a roughly $10.5 million capital-improvement program covering streets, sanitary sewer, stormwater, water projects, landfill work and other capital needs.

City staff said the capital program is the portion of the budget the commission had not yet discussed in prior meetings. “A budget hearing is one of the requirements for state statute,” a staff member said, noting the public hearing notice was published and that no public comments were signed up for the night.

The nut graf: the package presented funds dozens of mostly small-to-medium projects and a handful of larger-design efforts. City presenters said approximately $8.8 million of the proposed capital spending would come from transfers from the municipal authority (EMA) with roughly $1.6 million coming from other sources, and they emphasized design-first planning for larger reconstructions so the city can better pursue grants and partner funding.
