Germantown water utility lists curb-stop replacements, booster station and tower work; wastewater study ongoing

Public Works Director Matt Mortwood provided an overview of water-utility and wastewater planning work, including curb-stop replacements, booster station construction, water-tower rehabilitation and a wastewater study for lift stations.
Mortwood said the water utility plans curb-stop replacement later this year on Mayflower Water Street and Colonial Drive and anticipates bidding and awarding the work in the summer. He described ongoing work near Rockfield Road to finish a booster station, a well and a water tower and noted other items such as water-tower rehab and generator upgrades.
On wastewater, Mortwood said there are no large active construction projects but that the utility is conducting a study to evaluate future upgrades needed at the Old Farm and Main Street lift stations. He said residents will hear more at future utility advisory committee, public works committee and village board meetings.
Mortwood emphasized that the presentation focused primarily on right-of-way impacts this summer and that additional water-utility details would be covered in future meetings and posted materials.
