The City of Doral City Council authorized the city manager May 14 to execute a work order with CHA Inc. for professional design services not to exceed $113,750 to prepare construction documents for reconditioning the city manager’s office area and finance department office area on the third floor of the Doral Government Center.
Councilwoman Cabral pulled the item for questions about scope, cumulative cost and document availability. Assistant city manager and staff explained this design phase follows earlier design work for council offices and will allow the city to move legislative analysts and council offices into new spaces, then reconfigure the vacated spaces (including the manager’s and finance areas) next year. Staff said the design phase is necessary to permit and sequence construction so departments can be moved with minimal disruption.
Cabral also asked why some supporting documents were not easily accessible on the city’s regular website; the clerk and staff said agenda attachments are posted through the city’s Legistar system and offered to provide the requested documents after the meeting. The council approved the work order with a recorded majority vote.
