Lampasas City Council approved the purchase of electrical poles from Techline Incorporated in the amount of $18,000 to support ongoing utility projects, including line relocations and upgrades requested by NextLink.
Utilities staff told council the item is budgeted (line item balance $44,672) and that the poles will be used on multiple projects: a line relocation on U.S. 190 near Auction Barn and upgrades connected to NextLink’s work on the east side of town. Staff said NextLink requested pole upgrades for reliability and that the city will bill NextLink for the upgrades; historically the city has billed labor and material at cost for attachments.
The council approved the purchase by voice vote; staff said conduit and other work packages remain to be bid for Turner Field and other projects. The purchase is intended to maintain project schedules for several concurrent utility jobs.
