Prison staff summarized recent informational highlights, including training, safety coordination, a prerelease center tour for solicitors and community outreach events.
Staff said Deputy Warren Barnes and a staff member attended the Pennsylvania County Corrections Association spring conference in Erie. On April 10 prison security and maintenance supervisors met with the Williamsport Bureau of Fire to review the facility layout, emergency and evacuation plans; the meeting was initiated by maintenance manager Zach Zebelitz. On April 14 PRC manager Thompson and a staff member provided a tour of the prerelease center to Solicitor Bluth, Solicitor Hartley and Ryan Morgan of the McCormick Law Firm. On April 17 staff attended mental health first aid training conducted by correctional counselor Mikayla Rinozzi and forensic case manager Barbie Osborne.
Staff also reported participating in a career fair at the Lycoming County Career and Technology Center and attending the mock crash assembly at Williamsport Area High School; Chief Deputy Spiebel and the coroner attended the latter. Staff said they also participated in a CJAD pretrial subcommittee meeting at Third Street Plaza. These items were presented as informational and no board action was requested.
