Council members and staff on May 8 thanked volunteers who participated in the Earth Day Spring Cleanup and tree‑planting along West Cobbs Creek and discussed several volunteer‑led community projects that need modest borough support.

"I wanna thank our sponsors, ShopRite as well as, the owner Nick of Quality Gas here in Yeadon that provided all of the refreshments as well as all of the residents who came out to help with the cleanup and also with the tree planting," Councilor (speaker) said. The mayor also thanked public works and the police chief for assistance.

Councilors and staff discussed Love Garden — a volunteer community garden that shares produce with residents — and agreed signage and compost‑bin labels are needed because volunteers report people placing trash in compost bins. Public Works Director Catherine Howe said she will follow up with volunteers and that the borough included some funding items in the prior budget to support garden needs (sheds, signage); council asked staff to coordinate with volunteers including Hakeemah Jabbar and Michael Dooloe.

Councilors also discussed efforts to restore Graceland Cemetery; volunteers had been organizing maintenance and the council asked staff to follow up with named volunteers and provide updates at the next meeting.

The borough reported the rain garden at Community Park is finished and that a rain‑barrel workshop will be held Wednesday evening with rain barrels distributed to registered residents. Public Works said additional rain barrels may be available later in the summer and that grants are supporting stormwater and community garden efforts.

No formal borough policy changes were adopted at the caucus; staff will follow up on signage, budgeted items for garden support, and cemetery coordination and will update council at future meetings.
