Staff reported a chlorinator pump malfunction affecting lodge water quality controls. The Environmental Protection Agency did not require the lodge to close, but staff said they locked the building as a precaution and expect the chlorinator pump to be back in service within about a week.
The department requested approximately $70,000 in the budget to replace archery targets and installation, citing a vendor proposal of roughly $62,000 and added installation contingencies. Parks staff said they are also pursuing potential funding from a Wyoming sportsmen’s group to offset county cost.
Trustees discussed security options on the mountain, including cameras. Trustee Alice Laird suggested staff identify camera costs and discuss legal retention requirements with the county attorney; staff said they would consult legal before implementing any camera program and will attempt to gather cost estimates quickly.
Staff also discussed campground and trails prep for the season, hiring a seasonal campground caretaker, and planning an open house tied to mountain clubs. Parks staff noted the lodge’s water system will be operational once the chlorinator pump is repaired and that restroom facilities and docks will be ready for the season as conditions permit. A dedication-plaque option for a lodge fireplace was discussed; staff said a similar plaque previously cost about $1,600 but that the final plaque price will depend on the number of names submitted.
