The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors convened in closed session to discuss anticipated litigation (CS-1) and labor negotiations (CS-2) and returned to open session with "no reportable action," the Executive Officer said.
The Executive Officer opened the public-facing portion of the meeting by reading public comment rules, noting that "the right of the public to address the board must be balanced with the need to ensure that public comment does not interfere with the orderly course of the board's business." The board allowed up to one minute per speaker on closed-session items and provided a phone line for remote participation, including participant code 1336503.
Staff alternated between in-person and telephonic speaking queues. The chair asked for the first remote speaker after staff reported there were no in-person speakers signed up; the moderator confirmed there were also no remote speakers in the queue. The board then read into closed session under the Brown Act to discuss "conference with legal counsel regarding anticipated litigation" (CS-1) and "conference with labor negotiators, Visa Davenport, and designated staff as indicated on the posted agenda" (CS-2).
After reconvening in open session, the Executive Officer read the report of action and said there was no reportable action on either closed-session item. The meeting concluded with a reminder that the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
No motions, votes, or formal decisions were recorded on the closed-session items in the transcript.
