Greenland orders meeting-room AV upgrades; new system will include recording and transcription

The Greenland Board of Selectmen approved procurement of new audio-visual equipment for the town meeting room and a dedicated Teams license to replace the town's existing streaming setup. Town staff said hardware has been ordered and that the new system will record meetings and provide automated transcription.
Staff explained the upgrade includes a new laptop dedicated to the meeting system, a pan-tilt-zoom camera mounted on the far wall, eight ceiling microphones, dual public-facing screens, and wiring to be installed through the ceiling. A contracted technician and the town's part-time technology support person will perform installation; staff estimated one to two weeks for installation and hoped to complete work by the end of the month, weather and delivery permitting.
A public commenter asked whether the new system would include transcription; staff replied it "will have the recording and transcription, inclusive" and noted a separate Teams licensing arrangement was required for the dedicated computer.
Town staff said the upgrade will allow the public to see planning-board documents on a second screen in the meeting room and should improve access for residents who watch remotely.
