The Hardy County Commission approved an in-house budget revision to reallocate health department funds after the department moved into a new facility and no longer pays rent at its prior location.
Clerk Humberson explained that because the health department vacated the previous building, the department no longer needs the rent budget line and requested moving that money to cover a payment on the new building, utilities and related expenses. “The health department is no longer in the... maybe on aging building. However, they have moved to a new facility, and they no longer have a rent expense,” the clerk said.
A motion to approve the in-house revision was moved and seconded; commissioners voted to approve the request by voice vote. The commission recorded no roll-call tally in the meeting transcript.
The clerk indicated no further conditions were attached to the approval and the change is administrative in nature to align line items with current expenses.
