High Springs authorizes online publication of city notices; budget notices still require newspapers

On May 8 the City Commission approved Resolution 2025‑E to allow the city to publish required public notices on a publicly accessible website as an alternative to traditional newspaper publication and to maintain a registry for persons who prefer postal or email notice.
Staff said the change is intended to reduce costs for items such as planning and zoning notices and to give staff flexibility when timing issues arise. A staff member noted the county has confirmed compatibility with the proposed electronic-notice system and that hosting is free; the staff member added that legally required budget notices must still be published in a newspaper and cannot be moved to the online-only option.
The resolution directs the city to conspicuously post a link to the notice site on the city website, create a registry for people who want mailed or emailed notices, and publish an annual notice in the newspaper about the alternative means to receive city notices. Commissioners approved the resolution by roll call.
