The City Council authorized a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the Scotts Bluff County (sic) Sheriff's Office and the Scottsbluff Police Department covering 2025 through 2027 that defines reimbursement of overtime for officers assigned to a regional drug task force.
A city staff member described the MOA as part of a grant application process and said the majority of the reimbursements covered by the agreement will be for overtime hours worked by officers assigned to the task force. "It's their overtime, a percentage of their overtime," the staff member said. The department is not fully staffed at the moment but expects a part-time assignment to the task force next month.
Council approved the MOA by motion and second. Staff said the agreement is the final submission step for the grant application and that reimbursement will be tied to documented overtime and submission deadlines outlined in the MOA.
