City staff told council they received two bids on the roofing project; the engineer’s estimate was about $132,000 and the recommended low bidder, Twin City Roofing, has done past work for the city. Council approved the award by motion and roll call.
The council also approved the purchase of a replacement walker mower for the cemetery. Staff said the mower being replaced was a 2019 model and the trade‑in allowance was $7,500; the net cost to the city after trade is $15,340, which was within the previously budgeted amount.
Separately, the council approved bid specifications for a new half‑ton crew‑cab 4x4 pickup for Public Works and authorized the city clerk to advertise for bids to be received until April 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. Public Works staff said the procurement will allow an existing, higher‑mileage vehicle to be passed down to the crew; the current unit slated to be passed down has about 75,000 miles.
Council members asked standard procurement questions and confirmed budget availability; staff said some of these purchases will be funded from surplus in other line items.
