The contract calls for construction of a new triplex sanitary sewer lift station adjacent to the existing unit (to be demolished) and includes an optional bid item for a permanent diesel backup pump to maintain operation during outages. Four bids were received and staff found TLC Diversified the lowest responsive, responsible bidder; the range of bids ran from $2.09M to about $2.6M.
Commissioners supported the award, noting the city’s priority to strengthen wastewater infrastructure and reduce stormwater/flood risk for large service areas. Commissioner comments emphasized the importance of grant funding in lowering the local share. The motion passed unanimously.
