Council members discussed timing and scope. Director Giladi said the first phase of paving is scheduled to begin as soon as the week of May 19 and that the city hopes to begin the second phase immediately after the first is finished. Council and staff confirmed the paving will proceed “through the bridge and stop on just on the west side,” ensuring that paving will continue under the railroad bridge; “we're only paving. We're not widening the railroads,” Giladi added.
An estimated project cost of $225,000 was cited during the discussion. Council authorized three readings and then moved to adopt the resolution. A motion to pass Resolution 32-2025 was seconded and the council recorded the vote as “Aye” and the motion carried.
The resolution directs the city engineer to prepare bid documents and authorizes the mayor to advertise and solicit bids. No contract award was made at the meeting; council and staff said further administrative action will follow once bids are received.
