Board approves probationary hires and world-language curriculum associate; board confirms class-of-2025 account plans

The meeting recorded approvals for probationary hires announced earlier: Joseph Nolan (teaching assistant) and David Marquez (joining as a probationary world-language teacher in French and German). District staff noted Marquez had been a part-time instructor this year and will move to a probationary full-time role. The board also acknowledged the planned retirement of William Anderson, the district’s curriculum associate for world languages, and the appointment of Catherine Kirschner to that associate role; staff said Kirschner will start July 1 and joins the district from the Harris School District.
During review of the financial reports, a board member raised the Class of 2025 spending account. The district reported the account showed approximately $18,000 at one point and about $5,000 had already been spent, leaving roughly $12,000. District staff said they have been working with the principal and the class adviser and that a budget is in place for prom, field day and related senior activities; staff said the goal is to reduce the remaining balance to under $1,000 through planned expenditures.
Personnel motions and noncertificated appointments were approved by voice vote during the meeting.
