Separately, the council adopted a resolution accepting the fiscal‑year 2024 Rebuild Alabama Act funds expenditure report to comply with state code section 23‑8‑8(e). The original appropriation for the Lake Pointe Drive project was $750,000, and the report notes a remaining fund balance of $103,422.15 after project expenditures.
A council member highlighted that, while change orders often increase project costs, this particular change order produced a contract savings. City engineering staff were thanked for completing the work and saving funds.
Both resolutions were adopted by voice vote; the council recorded the motions and indicated the project is complete for the reported pay items.
