Neighborhood Health told the Sumner County Opioid Abatement Committee that it received a grant of about $52,300 for the fiscal year ending June 30 but has not yet drawn funds. The organization requested $2,264.01 from the committee to pay remaining balances for patients in its medication-assisted-treatment (MAT) program for services insurance did not cover and to cover an employee who is providing part-time onsite MAT services.
Staff said Neighborhood Health has not drawn down other grant funds because the organization could not fill a full-time onsite MAT position; the organization is currently providing the service part time. The committee instructed staff to present final drawdown and remaining-balance figures at the July meeting when the fiscal year is closed so members can consider reallocating any unspent funds to infrastructure or other grants for the coming fiscal year.
A motion to approve the request was seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting.
