The Elko County Commission on Wednesday confirmed internal officers for 2025, approved multiple board and advisory appointments, and adopted meeting calendars for the Board of Health and commission travel dates.
Bridal Gale nominated John Carr to serve as commission chair and Delmo Andreozzi for vice chair for 2025; the motion carried by voice vote. The commission also voted to keep Delmo Andreozzi and Travis (last name not specified in the transcript) as Highway Board chair and clerk and reconfirmed the commission chair as the 2025 Liquor Board chair.
The commission approved a set of organizational assignments (E1–E4) and accepted nominations to external boards, including the Humboldt River Basin Water Authority (replacing Wylde Brough with Bridal Gale and maintaining Rex Stenger, Craig Spratling and Mark Hooper). The commission appointed KP Polkinghorn to the Elko County Board of Equalization (term expiring 06/30/2026) and approved other board appointments and reappointments across county advisory bodies.
Specific appointments the commission approved by voice vote included:
- Steve Burrows to the Elko Convention and Visitors Authority Board (the ECVA board had recommended Burrows after both candidates presented),
- Reappointments of Leslie Creel and David Both to the Natural Resource Management Advisory Commission (terms expiring 12/31/2028),
- Reappointment of Tammy Craycraft Dickinson to the Library Board (term expiring 12/31/2028),
- Appointment of Troy (last name provided) to the Jarbidge Town Advisory Board and Monica Burt to the Jackpot Town Advisory Board,
- Appointments to the Mountain City Town Advisory Board for Candido Mendy and Dan Bazanhas, and
- The commission kept application periods open or deferred appointments where no applications were received.
The commission also approved the Board of Health meeting calendar (quarterly meetings that include all five commissioners, the sheriff and the health officer) and the commission’s meeting calendar and travel dates. Most motions were adopted by unanimous voice vote; no recorded roll-call tallies were entered in the transcript.
Commissioners asked staff to follow up on outstanding application items and bring unresolved appointments to a future meeting when a full commission or additional applicants could participate.
