Zoning-regulation RFPs: subcommittee to review seven responses and pick finalists

Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission were briefed April 29 that the zoning-regulation update subcommittee received seven responses to its request for proposals and will meet May 15 to review them and select two or three candidates for presentations.
Town staff said the submissions include multiple Connecticut firms, two from Boston and one national firm based in Ohio with higher fees but national experience. The subcommittee's stated goal is to narrow the list to two or three firms for in-person presentations and then select a consultant to lead the regulation update.
The subcommittee meeting is set for May 15 at 7:00 p.m.; the commission—s next regular meeting is May 27. Staff asked subcommittee members to review the proposals in advance and said materials had been emailed to the subcommittee but were not posted publicly yet. Commission members not on the subcommittee may request the materials from staff if interested.
Commissioners said they expect to review the proposals and discuss candidates at the May 15 subcommittee meeting; the commission did not take a formal vote on consultant selection at the April 29 meeting.
