The New Canaan commission formally denied a parking-ticket appeal at its May 7 meeting after the appellant failed to appear.
Commissioners said they had contacted the appellant and provided materials; because the appellant did not attend, staff and commissioners followed the commission’s established appeal procedures and the ticket was upheld. A motion to deny the appeal as a result of nonattendance was made and seconded and the commission voted unanimously to uphold the original ticket.
The commission directed that its appeal procedures be followed in future similar cases and recorded that staff had attempted outreach to the appellant before the meeting.
