City staff said the bureau maintains six fleet vehicles; two older units continue to experience problems. The requested procurement is for a Ford Edge similar to previous purchases; staff said one part-time street inspector will continue using an existing Chevrolet Cruze.
Finance committee members confirmed the money for the purchase was set aside from ARPA funds last year and that the vehicles are heavily used. The council approved the resolution authorizing the purchase; the administration will proceed with procurement under the city’s capital purchasing process.
