Williamsport council approves FireTree expansion at 600 Campbell Street

Williamsport City Council voted 5-0 May 8 to approve a land development plan allowing FireTree to expand at 600 Campbell Street.
The proposal authorizes construction of a 10,161-square-foot building, a 912-square-foot addition to an existing building and a 1,728-square-foot accessory structure within a residential zoning district, according to a city presentation. The plan was reviewed by county planning and stormwater authorities and by Bill Scott, who was identified in the meeting as involved in stormwater review.
The project record presented to council said the development will include a driveway and meets required parking and accessible-parking standards. The city planner introduced the item and referenced county comments and the city engineer’s review.
Council members expressed support. One councilmember said the organization “provide[s] a great service to the community,” and that the expansion “is gonna allow them to continue to provide that service at a higher level.” The council then voted to approve the plan.
The approval was procedural: the council accepted the land development plan after staff and county review. No construction schedule, building permit conditions beyond normal planning and stormwater reviews, or bonding details were specified in the meeting record.
City staff will administer remaining permitting, inspections and any conditions attached to the plan before construction begins.
