Board approves juvenile detention contracts with Mower and Goodhue counties

Staff said the board had previously approved the contract template in October but the individual county contracts had not been signed by the board. The contracts from Mower and Goodhue counties were presented with signatures from those counties and staff asked the board to formally approve Houston County's acceptance and authorize the chair to sign.
A commissioner moved to approve each contract separately; both motions were seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said the contracts are now in place and the board chair will sign to make the agreements official, which enables the counties to use the Houston County juvenile detention services under the agreed terms.
No fiscal figures were discussed during the presentation at the meeting; staff said the template and signed agreements reflect previously negotiated terms.
