District administrators updated the board on several capital projects, including HVAC, building vestibules, staff badge rollout and the resurfacing of a community court area.
Kim told the board the household chiller is installed and operational though she heard a part may need replacement; the building vestibule work is in place and punch-list items remain, such as relocating the ADA access button. The district will print and issue staff badges, and staff are addressing final punch-list fixes.
Kim said the resurfaced courts by the library have new fencing, striping and painted patios for pickleball and tennis; she urged the public to stay off the new surface while it cures and said the district will install trash receptacles, signage and finalize access controls. The district's capital committee recently adopted a mission statement to plan, maintain and improve district facilities through fiscally responsible long-range efforts, she said.
Kim also said she is pursuing possible grant options for window replacement and other facility improvements and noted a realtor submitted a request for qualifications related to property sales that could provide capital for facilities work. No votes were required for the report items.
