The Sierra Vista City Council on May 8 authorized the fire and medical services department to submit projects for consideration by the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The department's chief said the requested items include extrication tools, car seats and associated employee‑related expenses, and that grant funds would be reimbursable through the Governor's Office of Highway Safety via NHTSA. "The items requested are extrication tools, car seats, and associated employee related expenses," the chief told the council.
The chief said grant money for the request has already been included in the city budget. Councilwoman Faye Jackson moved approval of Resolution 2025‑37; the motion passed with no recorded opposition.
