The county received seven responses to its RFQ and the selection committee chose Michael Baker International as the most qualified firm.
The board approved $656,068.95 to fund the first phase of engineering work, which staff said will take a couple of years to complete and would require a future Board approval for a task order to finish the project and procure construction services.
Why it matters: The bridge is in Commissioner District 3 and current load restrictions limit certain vehicle movements; replacing the bridge will address safety, weight limits and long‑term maintenance needs. The board approved the Phase 1 agreement unanimously.
