The Herriman Planning Commission approved a one-year extension to the preliminary plat approval for the Laguna Point subdivision, extending the approval through May 7, 2026.
Clint told the commission the subdivision was approved in July 2023 and the developer is seeking additional time to market and sell the approved project. The subdivision remains proposed as 68 single-family lots; city code limits development above 30 lots until a second access is provided. Staff noted this extension is allowed under city code and is the applicant’s only eligible extension.
John Linsley, the applicant’s authorized agent, told commissioners they have been working with builders and had a buyer under consideration, and asked for the additional time to finalize arrangements. Commissioners confirmed the developer can proceed to build up to 30 lots while working on second access and will not need to return to the commission so long as they meet the conditions and begin construction activities as required by code.
The commission approved the extension with staff-recommended conditions in a unanimous roll-call vote.
