The Herriman Planning Commission voted to approve a conditional use permit for a Chartway Federal Credit Union branch on Herriman Main Street in the Anthem commercial area.
Staff presented the proposed 2,400-square-foot building with 20 parking stalls, 20-foot height, 34% landscaping and two pedestrian connections to Denali Park Drive and Herriman Main Street. Staff noted the design had been reviewed by the Anthem Commercial Architectural Review Committee; landscaping met city ordinance but the city will require utility screening on permit plans.
Joanna Graham, representing the applicant from Kimley Horn, said the applicant has coordinated with city staff and “is happy to meet these conditions of approval that they've set forth.” Commissioners expressed appreciation for the pedestrian connections and landscaping. The commission amended a typographical error in the agenda language during the motion and then approved the conditional use permit with the staff conditions and a roll-call vote in favor by all members present.
Staff told commissioners the utility screening — which can be done with fencing or landscaping — must be shown on building-permit plans and approved by city staff and the landscape architect before installation.
