The Lexington Planning Commission approved a certificate of appropriateness for a new freestanding sign at 631 Waddell Street for Rockbridge Homes and Barnes during its May 8 meeting.
The commission voted unanimously to approve application ECCO8202506 as proposed by the applicant. "Rockbridge Homes and Barnes recently purchased the property at 631 Waddell Street, and it is in the C‑2 zoning district and therefore also in the entrance corridor overlay," planning staff member Arnie said in a summary of the application. Arnie said the proposal includes two 12‑inch by 12‑inch vinyl window decals and a 7 1/4‑foot by 3 1/4‑foot double‑sided, post‑mounted freestanding sign located at the base of the parking lot; the freestanding panel will replace the previous panel and the existing signposts are expected to be reused.
Commission discussion was brief; no public comment was offered on the item. A commissioner moved to approve the entrance corridor certificate of appropriateness for ECCO8202506 "for a new freestanding sign at 631 Waddell Street as proposed by the applicant" and a second followed. The motion carried with all voting "aye."
