City of Kenmore staff opened and read six bids for the Muck Creek Mitigation Project during a public bid opening. Per the totals read, "the apparent low bid was submitted by Trico Companies LLC, in the amount of $841,728.32," Andrew Sylvia, project manager in the city’s environmental services team, said.
The bid opening included six submittals. The amounts read aloud by city staff were: Sunset Grill Construction, $1,100,972.11; Trico Companies LLC, $841,728.32; Glacier Environmental Services Inc., $892,202.40; A 1 Landscaping and Construction Inc., $1,099,280.26; Well West Construction Inc., $1,026,501.98; and EcoGrind Site Solutions LLC, $1,074,088.54.
Anastasia Warhol, city clerk, ran the bid opening and confirmed six submittals. Warhol also said the city will post the bid results to its website. Sylvia said staff will "begin our review of the bids for responsiveness and responsibility and confirm the, the low bidder, that meets our criteria and reach out to the low responsible bidder upon that determination." The city did not announce a contract award at the opening.
The announcement was procedural: staff read each bid in words and figures, confirmed the number of submittals, and identified the apparent low bidder for subsequent administrative review. The next steps, as stated by city staff, are an internal review for responsiveness and responsibility and outreach to the low responsible bidder; any formal contract award will follow whatever procurement and contracting steps the city requires.
No vote, motion, contract award, or formal selection was made during the bid opening. City staff thanked bidders for their interest and closed the public reading of bids.
