Cobb County opens eight solicitations; $23.06 million bid filed for interceptor sewer rehab

Cobb County procurement officials opened bids May 8 for eight solicitations covering sewer work, traffic infrastructure, pavement markings, park concrete work and grant-administration services, Procurement Deputy Director Stephanie Bryce said.
Bryce said the largest single bid was $23,061,240 from SAK Construction LLC for solicitation S3052, the FY25 interceptor sewer rehabilitation on behalf of the Cobb County Water System. "We have 8 solicitations to be open today," Bryce said at the start of the session.
The bid opening recorded responses and bid bonds but did not include award decisions. The county will evaluate proposals and post preliminary results and formal awards after the procurement process is complete; Bryce said the next regularly scheduled bid opening is Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Other sealed-bid submissions opened Thursday included ITB S1149, FY25 Zone 1 miscellaneous sewer replacements for the Cobb County Water System, which drew three bids: HD Excavations and Utilities LLC ($1,109,075), Reynolds Construction LLC ($1,196,280) and KM Davis Contracting Company Inc. ($1,377,123).
Two Department of Transportation solicitations were opened: project B2593 for damaged signal-pole replacement, which received bids from Reedwick LLC ($818,217) and Smart Road Technology LLC ($684,960); and TR544 and TR545, countywide pavement-marking contracts for the north and south zones, which each received a single bid from Tidwell Traffic Solutions for $532,785.45 (north) and $577,203.52 (south).
An RFP (25-6895) for administration services for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other grant programs was opened for vendor recognition only; bidders listed for evaluation were BlueLinx Solutions, Tigers Level Up LLC and View Community Advisors, Inc. An RFP for a household hazardous-waste amnesty-day event (25-6900) received one response from MXI Environmental Services LLC.
The county also opened ITB 25-6901, an annual contract for miscellaneous concrete projects at county parks; vendors listed were Capital Sports Construction Inc., Elk Remodeling, Inc., Integrated Construction and Nobility, Inc., and WE Contracting Company Inc. Procurement staff noted that annual contracts include multiple pricing lines and will be evaluated accordingly.
Preliminary bid results and awarded contracts will be posted on the county procurement portal and the county website after evaluation. Bryce closed the session by reminding viewers that the next bid opening is scheduled for May 22, 2025, and directing people to the procurement pages on the county website for listings and results.
