Grace Wilson, senior specialist for legislation and policy, told the board that Policy JCC, Student Conduct, was presented on third reading with style and format corrections recommended. "At this point, we are recommending approval of policy JCC subject to correction for style and format," Wilson said.
A motion to adopt Policy JCC carried on the third reading. Board member Michelle Hunt moved to adopt and the motion was seconded. The board recorded a unanimous vote of 7–0 to adopt the policy. The final adopted policy incorporates language referencing restorative practices and updates to student conduct and discipline procedures, as staff had requested.
Wilson and board members thanked the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) for its participation during the policy review process; one board member said the CAC’s community meetings and small-group work were thoughtful and informative.
The action was a final adoption vote (third reading). The board’s motion passed 7–0 on roll call; no further action was recorded at the meeting.
